We had the most lovely stay with Marta and Sandro. The location and house itself are gorgeous and Stanjel, a 15 minute walk away, is breathtaking. This place has all you could ever need and Marta helped introduce us to a neighbour for an intimate wine tasting which was a highlight of our trip. We would definitely come back!

Marta is such a wonderful hostess. She made us feel at home on her beautiful property. We loved having conversations with her and her husband and our kids loved playing with their dog. So many places to see and do in wine country and her place is a perfect base to do these! She took such great care of us and also helped us with recommendations in the area. I highly recommend a stay with her and her beautiful place!

Marta is a lovely host, very friendly and will give you local recommendations. You have to try her breakfast (come hungry) - its amazing!

Het lijkt wel of Marta gemaakt is om host te zijn. De ruimte die zij en haar man hebben opgeknapt is fantastisch. Een oude varkensstal die met zorg en aandacht is gerenoveerd. En dat past helemaal bij hoe we Marta hebben leren kennen. Een lieve en gastvrije vrouw met aandacht voor detail. Zo is het huisje brandschoon, alle handdoeken spierwit en ruikt het er heerlijk. Marta ontving ons met zelfgemaakte limonade. Gaf ons zelfgemaakte perenjam en zwaaide ons uit met heerlijke koffie. Wat een fantastische verzorging! Het huisje ligt een half uur van een aantal mooie bezienswaardigheden af. Marta gaf ons goede tips. Onze jongste heeft ook genoten van het spelen met de hond. We hebben ons heel erg welkom gevoeld. Bedankt Marta en Sandro en hopelijk ooit to ziens!

We lived the village of Štanjel, a lovely 15 minute walk through the woods from Marta’s place. It was so peaceful and beautiful, a real gem of a place. Marta’s place was well equipped, very clean and well situated. Marta was very helpful, kind and responsive.

Wij hebben een fantastisch verblijf gehad bij Marta. Wat een fijne locatie en Marta is een schat van een vrouw, wij voelden ons gelijk helemaal thuis. Het ontbijt is ook een echte aanrader. Heerlijke verse producten met liefde bereid. De accomodatie was smetteloos en bood ons voldoende ruimte (gezin met 2 kleine kinderen). Wij gaan Marta zeker missen, mochten we nog eens in de buurt zijn dan gaan we zeker langs voor een kort verblijf. Een echte aanrader...

Très beau logement tranquille, au calme, à 10mn à pieds du village Stanjel qui est magnifique. Tout est propre et Marta est super gentille. La Slovénie est magnifique , nous reviendrons . Merci Marta

Marta‘s home was nothing short of lovely. We were two couples and a baby, and the house had everything we needed for a long weekend. The absolute highlight of our vacation was Marta‘s cooking. The breakfasts was by far our part, and her baking is not to be missed. She baked my husband a expresso cheesecake for his birthday, and if it wasn’t rude, we’d have licked the plate clean. It truly was better than any other bakery we’ve ever eaten at. Highly highly recommend staying here.

In un primo momento mi sono fatta prendere dal panico perché il parcheggio per la mia auto ingombrante (Tourneo) non era dei più semplici. Ma ci tornerei pure a piedi dall’Italia, pur di passare altri momenti al Lavendula Cottage: soffro di insonnia cronica da una vita e sono riuscita a dormire 7 ore di filato serenamente, la colazione per me è un rito e come quelle di Marta non ne esistono. Tutto è impeccabile e lindo, in ogni dettaglio ci sono buongusto, una cura immensa e un’attenzione che rendono la casa un posto da favola. Nel Lavendula Cottage c’è un valore aggiunto che non si può classificare con stelline o recensioni: il cuore di Marta, la maestria di Sandro, quei sorrisi garbati e meravigliosi con cui ti danno il benvenuto e ti fanno sentire a casa. Un posto unico, da non perdere. E basta parcheggiare in piazza!

Marta est exceptionnelle,d’une gentillesse inimaginable. Le logement est situé dans une cour très jolie, bien fleurie en contrebas de la route mais qui est calme la nuit. L’intérieur est aménagé avec beaucoup de goût. On sent que Marta aime faire plaisir et accueillir ses hôtes.

Marta ist die geborene Gastgeberin, so freundlich und engagiert! Die Unterkunft war blitzsauber, sie hat zwischendurch sogar noch einmal sauber gemacht, und das Frühstück ist ein Traum!!! Wir haben unsere Zeit bei ihr, ihrem Mann und Hund sehr genossen und kommen gerne wieder!

Fue una hermosa experiencia hospedarnos en Marta, nos recibió con mucha hospitalidad y siempre fue muy linda. Realmente nos hizo sentir en casa. Su espacio es hermoso, tiene muy lindos detalles de decoración. Y lo mejor fue el desayuno que ofrece ufff delicioso y muy abundante. Lo recomendamos completamente para conocer Eslovenia

Un séjour d'une qualité exceptionnelle chez Marta et Sandro. Quelle incroyable rencontre, nos hôtes étaient charmants et bienveillants. De plus le logement est situé tout près de plein d'activités à faire (Italie à deux pas, le magnifique village de Stanjel à 10 minutes à pieds, les grottes,...) La région est aussi parfaite pour découvrir la nature impressionnante de la Slovénie. Forêts, sentiers, rivières,... Parfait pour les cyclistes avec plein d'itinéraires disponibles sur Strava et des routes de qualité depuis le logement. Nous pouvons vivement recommandés ce logement et nous remercions encore Marta et Sandro pour leur accueil !

Nous avons passé un séjour excellent chez Marta et Sandro, nous étions comme chez nous et nous recommandons chaleureusement leur appartement. La climatisation était tellement agréable la nuit. Marta merci aussi pour ta fameuse confiture de pêche ! Nous gardons en mémoire bien plus que des hôtes, des personnes avec un grand cœur et une grande hospitalité ! Merci encore à vous pour votre gentillesse.

Nice, clean and cozy place in a beautiful surrounding. Very good located place for all activities in the southwest of Slovenia (Predjama, Piran, Škocjanske jame and Postojna etc.) and lovely medieval Štanjel. Thanks for having us.

Lavandula house is a very cozy place in a great location. It is quiet yet easily reachable and a great base to explore the region (with a car). Marta is a fantastic host! We really enjoyed our stay here and spending some time with Marta and her husband was great. We highly recommend her breakfast, it was delicious and a great addition to our stay! Grazie tanto and we hope to be back one day.

The surrounding countryside is full of vineyards, olive groves, flowers, picturesque villages and paradise gardens. Suitable for cycle tourism. Sea beaches are within reach. In the neighborhood is the picturesque ancient town of Štanjel. We would like to return to the lavender house
